Library and Dining Room
Originally this room was to be Albert's library. The shelves were made to hold books but it soon became a dining room. Though Scotty liked to cook, he did not often eat with other guests. Instead, he ate alone before the meal. When the meal was served, Scotty sat in the alcove and told stories as everyone ate.
Carved into wood over the alcove above Scotty's chair are the Spanish words "!Ah, Que Dicha!" According to Bessie Johnson, this translated as "Oh, what joy!"
