CCC enrollees
June 1938
CCC enrollees were paid $1 a day, and the program had plenty of labor available. The National Park Service aesthetic design principles in the 1920's and 1930's favored the use of local materials in architectural and landscape construction. Here a tuff boulder is being trimmed using a crosscut saw.
