Description: Wood covered with brown leather stamped in diagonal pattern with gilt edging. Brass lock, hinges and handle set in brass plate at top.
Robert E. Lee bought this desk in the late 1850s. It passed from the Lees’ eldest daughter, Mary Lee, to her nephew, Robert E. Lee III, the son of William Henry Fitzhugh Lee.
