Park Fun

There are a number of ways to find fun while visiting Missouri National Recreational River. The following links may help while visiting or planning your trip.

  • Stop at Park Headquarters located at 508 E Second Street, Yankton, SD to watch our 18-minute park video River of Change and to get information and ideas of what to do during your stay. Office hours at 8am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday.
  • Kids and adults can become a Junior Ranger by completing our Junior Ranger Activity book.
  • From May through August attend ranger programs that include kayak and fishing clinics, history programs and Park-side chats at the Mobile Ranger Station.
  • Visit any of our partner site Visitor Centers including the Lewis & Clark Visitor Center and the Missouri National Recreational River Resource and Education Center to discover what kind of equipment Lewis & Clark used on their expedition, or the plants and animals that make up the 98-mile National Recreational River corridor.
  • View bald eagles anytime of the year. January and February are the best times to find them below Gavins Point and Fort Randall Dams hunting for fish and ducks.
  • Go virtual and check out our Virtual Experience Page!
