Minute Man National Historical Park Recruiting Interns for 2024 Internship Programs

CONCORD, MA—Minute Man National Historical Park will be recruiting for energetic, committed young adults who are interested in gaining work experience with a federal land agency in a public lands Internship Program. Internships are team-oriented, focus on gaining park stewardship and public speaking skills, contribute to meaningful park projects, and explore career options that will make them marketable in a career with a public land agency. This summer, the park will host multiple positions that support cultural and resource management projects and work alongside park rangers to serve the visiting public.

28-32-week (7-8 months) Public History Internship

Starting in spring and ending in winter, the intern will receive a weekly stipend and a housing allowance plus a travel stipend. Park housing isnot available Intern will work alongside park rangers who serve the visiting public at Visitor Centers and provide orientation and information at in-person programs. This position will be posted soon through the American Conservation Expierence.
Requirements: Be a US citizen, 18 to 30 years of age (or a veteran up to age 35), have reliable transportation, be willing to complete a state and federal background investigation. Check out all current opportunities at:

1200 hour internship through National Center for Preservation Education

The Landscape Preservation Graphic Artist intern will work with a team of landscape architects, preservation planners, historians, and resource managers. The applicant should have strong organization skills, classwork or experience in graphic design, park planning, cultural and natural resource management, landscape architecture, environmental science, and/or historic preservation.
Qualifications include skills in hand sketching, graphic design, 3-d modeling, photography, and diagramming; experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and/or Sketchup; familiarity with Geographic Information Systems is beneficial; experience working with a team as well as working independently to complete project components; and an interest and ability to work indoors and outdoors in variable weather conditions. Candidates should be prepared to submit a five-page portfolio of their work when contacted by the supervisor.
