Minidoka's Visitor Center opens for the season on February 22, 2020
The former warehouse #5, which served as an automotive repair shop at the incarceration site during WWII, has been renovated into a state of the art facility to house the Visitor Center for Minidoka National Historic Site.The space includes a ranger information desk, bookstore and retail space, theater, and exhibition space.

Minidoka National Historic Site is located at 1428 Hunt Road in Jerome, Idaho — twenty miles northeast of Twin Falls, Idaho. Admission is free. Visitor Center

The Minidoka NHS visitor center is closed for the season. We will reopen May 2024.
The site is open daily from sunrise to sunset for self-guided tours on the 1.6 mile walking tour.

The visitor center will be closed all Federal holidays.

(Labor Day, Indigenous People's Day / Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Eve and Day, Martin Luther King Jr Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July)

Guided Tours

When the visitor center is open in the summer, guided tours are offered at 11am on Saturdays and Sundays (when weather and staffing permits). Due to limited space in the historic buildings, tours are limited to 25 people on a first-come, first-served basis. A sign-up sheet is provided at the visitor center in the morning before the tour begins. Water bottles, sun protection, and comfortable walking shoes are highly recommended.

The walking trail is open from sunrise to sunset, every day of the year. This 1.6 mile trail features 25 outdoor exhibit signs that interpret the site's historic structures and landscape. Pets and recreational vehicles are prohibited on the trail. Service animals and motorized scooters for people with disabilities are allowed. Please be aware of bees, snakes, and other animals that may be encountered in the area-- stay safe and stay away from wildlife.

Tours for Schools and Large Groups

Schools and other educational groups may request tours outside of regular visitor center hours, including the Fall and Spring months. For further information please visit: Field Trips - Minidoka National Historic Site (U.S. National Park Service) (nps.gov)
