Winter Safety on Walter's Wiggles

Are you planning on hiking up to Scout Lookout or Angels Landing this winter? During the winter months, conditions on the West Rim Trail up to Scout Lookout and Angels Landing can be very icy and cold, especially on these icy switchbacks known as Walter’s Wiggles. Prepare like a ranger and do the wiggles safely: Wear several warm layers, hats, gloves, and on ice wear proper traction devices on your shoes. Permits are required year-round.
