Transcript
Ranger John: I like the graffiti up there. What do you think?
LaNada: That's wonderful. It makes me feel right at home.
Ranger John: Yeah. So this this next landing this was a much larger group who came in from Sausalito as I remember? The Sausalito Pirates helped you out. Is that true?
LaNada: well I'm sure he got all pumped about it all yeah it was exciting would you say how many were out here how many people with the families coming
Ranger John: November 20th you arrived and...
LaNada: Well we brought in... We were organized statewide so it was very easy to just call in all of our student campuses together. So we were organized within the student Network. And we we just told everyone to bring their their their wives their husbands their children. And we're gonna make a permanent stay. Bring your clothes. We're gonna have a permanent stay on the island. So there was about... I would say about 60 or 70 of us students with families.
Ranger John: And you arrive at the dock and what next happens?
LaNada: Well we just board the boats and come out to the island I mean... the only I guess the only conflicting thing I heard from the Pirates was that we had smuggled children. And no, our whole intent was to bring our family. We all had our... I had my my son and my sister with me. We all had our family so it was it was intended to be a permanent stay so we were prepared. But it was exciting we came over from Sausalito and landed again. And the caretaker I think John Hart was still down there. And he gets all excited again that we went ahead. And just went up on the island and I know I and my son we had a sleeping bag we had sleeping bags so we just made our bed right there on that little patch of green grass up there and made a little campfire and we were we were fine.
