Description

When experiencing the Grand Canyon from the rims, the Great Blue Heron (Ardea herodias) might be the last bird that comes to mind. Yet, along the waters coursing deep inside the Canyon walls, waterfowl are plentiful. In the earthy, shaded tones along Bright Angel Creek, the blue-grey plumage blends in perfectly, creating a deadly aesthetic for unsuspecting small creatures.
