Description

Connor Chee is a Diné pianist, who composes music inspired by his Diné heritage. "The original Diné songs I set to the piano were corn grinding songs, or girls' dance songs. But I soon began to incorporate Diné philosophy into my compositions, such as the number 4, which is sacred in Diné culture. So, whether that's through 4-part repetition, or even in the harmony, I try to imbue my music with references to 4."
