William Still and the Underground Railroad
Description
William Still was an active agent on the Underground Railroad and ran a safe house in Philadelphia. While doing his work for the Underground Railroad, William Still ended up meeting and helping one of his brothers who had remained enslaved when his mother escaped with his sisters. William Still recognized the importance of documenting the stories of families escaping through the Underground Railroad and eventually published a book about it.
