Animated demonstration of AIM Model

Glacier Bay National Park & Preserve

Description

Scientists used the Acoustic Integration Model (AIM ©) to simulate whale and vessel movement in Glacier Bay National Park to estimate the amount of underwater noise from cruise ships and tour vessels that whales in the park would experience under different management scenarios. This short, silent video simulates 24 hours in Glacier Bay, with 52 whales, 2 cruise ships and 3 tour vessels.
