2019 Cable Mountain Rockfall: Part One

Zion National Park

Description

Part one of a three-part series. In 2019, a huge slab of rock detached from the top of Cable Mountain and slid to the canyon below, covering the land with over 33 tons of rock, dirt, boulders, and debris. As a result, several trails closed, the Weeping Rock shuttle stop shut down, and visitors have not been able to access the area in three years. But will it always be this way?
