Air Quality Monitoring

Description

Glacier National Park is classified as a Class 1 airshed under the Clean Air Act, which affords the highest level of air quality protection. Air quality impacts visibility, water quality, forest composition and ecosystem function. Glacier has had a permanent air quality monitoring site since 1980 that measures different components of the atmosphere.
