Grand Canyon National Park will reopen the Bright Angel Trail and Campground for public use beginning May 15, 2025. Bright Angel Campground group sites will remain closed until Oct 1, 2025. However, the entire length of the River Trail, along with the Silver Bridge, will remain closed from May 15, through September 30, 2025. In addition, the Plateau Point Trail, between the Tonto Trail West junction to Plateau Point, originally scheduled to reopen in May, will remain closed through September 30, 2025. Mott Island Southwest Webcam

Mott Island, Isle Royale National Park's summer headquarters, is the nucleus of operations on the island. It is a barrier island located on the south side of Rock Harbor Channel. The webcam is active on real-time intervals during the summer months when power is available to it, and communicating multiple times per day during the winter when solar power allows.

Anne Caron Stafford and Melba Stafford Oja were mother and daughter, but had very different career paths. Anne, born in 1879, worked as a seamstress and bookkeeper until she got married. Melba, born in 1913, became one of Calumet’s most popular stylists. As Melba recalled, her mother attended a private school in Laurium to learn sewing and bookkeeping. One day, Anne and a coworker were on the second floor, looking out of one of the windows. They noticed a man walking down Oak Street in front of today’s Michigan House Cafe.
