As the San Francisco Bay Area Network coho and steelhead monitoring crew wraps up the 2024-2025 spawner season, we are looking back at one of the busiest winters since the beginning of this monitoring program! We observed increased coho spawning in all three creeks we monitor—Olema, Pine Gulch, and Redwood Creeks. Olema took the cake with the strongest cohort of all.

The project addresses deferred maintenance, such as replacing the irrigation system, repairing cracked and missing stucco surfaces of site walls and columns, and painting all site walls and columns. and more.

The LeChee Chapter House hires teens and offers them a variety of placements in the community, such as Glen Canyon, where the youth can gain real world job skills and new experiences. Ketona Reed has been a member of this youth partnership program between Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and the local LeChee Chapter House of the Navajo Nation for three years.
