Tower Arch Trail

This trail climbs up a rock wall, cuts across a valley, and then meanders through sandstone fins and sand dunes. Bristlecone Loop Trailhead

A short path through fir and pine leads to the easy 1.0 mi/1.6 km Bristlecone Loop, as well as the 8.8 mile (14.2 km) backcountry Riggs Spring Loop and 23 mile (37 km) Under-the-Rim Trail. As he continued his retirement from public service in 1880, Ulysses S. Grant invested $50,000 in a new investment banking firm with his son, Ulysses "Buck" Grant, Jr., and Ferdinand Ward. Over several years Grant became a millionaire on paper. However, the firm collapsed in 1884, leaving Grant bankrupt and almost completely penniless.

It is revered by all who know it for its elegance, ingenuity and originality. The challenges of the floodplain site are also well known as the building has endured numerous flood events over the past six decades. The rising waters of the Fox River represent a potentially devastating threat to Farnsworth’s future.
