Bright Angel Trailhead

Bright Angel Trailhead is located just west of Bright Angel Lodge, Lookout Studio, and Kolb Studio. At 6,840 feet (2,085 m), it provides access for hikers and mules to many inner canyon destinations. From the Hermit Road Interchange shuttle bus stops, it is a short walk to the east, and up a hill, on a paved footpath to the trailhead. This winter, a number of trail closures (on parts of Bright Angel Trail) are in effect. Click on the link for details.

Heintooga Spur Road

The Heintooga Spur Road off the Blue Ridge Parkway is lesser traveled scenic drive that enters into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Scenic overlooks, hiking trails, a campground, picnic area, and a unique historic marker are all highlights of the road. It is also a great place to look for elk.
Train Depot and El Tovar Hotel - Bus Stop - Village (Blue) Route

From this bus stop, you can follow the sidewalk and cross at the crosswalk to the train depot or take the stairs or a wheelchair accessible ramp to climb a hill to reach the rim of the canyon and enjoy classic Grand Canyon vistas by El Tovar Hotel, Hopi House, and Verkamp's Visitor Center. In California’s Yosemite National Park, a waste disposal area at the world-famous El Capitan rock formation is getting some much-needed attention. The National Park Service (NPS) has begun cleaning up the El Capitan waste disposal area, thanks to funding from the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). The goal of this effort is to restore this part of Yosemite National Park to its original condition.
