Abolitionist and women’s rights advocate Maria W. Stewart was one of the first women of any race to speak in public in the United States. She was also the first Black American woman to write and publish a political manifesto. Her calls for Black people to resist slavery, oppression, and exploitation were radical and influential.

Many of the ways Michelle found community in the Tri-Cities was connecting with other students who had roots outside the United States. Tower Arch Trail

This trail climbs up a rock wall, cuts across a valley, and then meanders through sandstone fins and sand dunes. Bristlecone Loop Trailhead

A short path through fir and pine leads to the easy 1.0 mi/1.6 km Bristlecone Loop, as well as the 8.8 mile (14.2 km) backcountry Riggs Spring Loop and 23 mile (37 km) Under-the-Rim Trail. Delicate Arch Viewpoint Trails

Philip Vera Cruz was a Filipino American labor organizer, farmworker, and leader in the Asian American movement. He played a central role in founding the United Farm Workers (UFW) union. Vera Cruz is best known for his role in the Delano Farmworkers strike and boycott, and his leadership in UFW, where he served as the second vice-president.
