Manzanar National Historic Site will host the 56th Manzanar Pilgrimage the weekend of April 25-27. The annual pilgrimage, organized by the Manzanar Committee, is open to the public, including formerly incarcerated people and their families, and helps to ensure the incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War II is neither forgotten nor repeated.

The visitor center at Manzanar National Historic Site will be closed Monday, Nov. 4 and Friday, Nov. 8 due to lack of water for fire protection.

Manzanar National Historic Site to Host Gardens for Peace Events, September 28, 2024

The visitor center at Manzanar National Historic Site will be temporarily adjusting operating hours for the month of July 2024, effective as of July 5th. From July 5th through 31st, the visitor center will be open three days a week, Friday through Sunday, 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.

SAN FRANCISCO - The National Park Service (NPS) has selected Jeremy Scheier to serve as the superintendent of Manzanar National Historic Site in Independence, California, starting July 14, 2024.

This Preservation Month, the National Park Service (NPS) Pacific West Region recognizes employees and Tribes who have exceeded their mission to protect the nation’s heritage. Join us in congratulating Blanca A. Stransky, Dave Goto, and Echo Davenport in conjunction with the Southern Sierra Miwuk Nation’s Wahhoga Committee.

The visitor center at Manzanar National Historic Site will be closed on Monday, May 13, 2024. Park staff will be attending an important community event that has special significance to the site and its history.

Manzanar National Historic Site invites visitors to participate in a weekend of special events in conjunction with the Manzanar Committee’s 55th Annual Pilgrimage. All are welcome and the events are free.

The visitor center at Manzanar National Historic Site will be temporarily adjusting operating hours to open four days a week, Friday through Monday, 9:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. The visitor center will be closed Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

The visitor center at Manzanar National Historic Site will be closed on Thursday and Friday, January 18 & 19 and Thursday and Friday, January 25 & 26, 2024. Normal visitor center hours are Thursday through Monday 9:00 am to 4:30pm.
