 Exciting News! The National Park Service has appointed Reginald "Reggie" Chapple as the new superintendent.  A prompt intervention averted a potential tragedy at Dr. King’s Birth Home.  The historic birth home of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and his siblings will temporarily close for one (1) year, to allow for rehabilitation work.  The Martin L. King Jr. National Historical Park resumes its’7-day operations on, Sunday, July 2, 2023.  The International World Peace Rose Gardens in partnership with the Martin Luther King National Historical Park will host the 31st anniversary of the Martin Luther King, Jr. “I Have A Dream” Inspirational Messages of Peace awards ceremony at the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park.  ATLANTA - Superintendent Judy Forte is delighted to announce the schedule of events for the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park in celebration of the 94th birthday of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., beginning Friday, January 13, 2023, and ending on the 38th Anniversary of the National King Holiday, Monday, January 16, 2023.  The Legacy Campout returns to in-person programming at Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park for the first time since 2019.  April schedule of events for the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park to mark the 54th Anniversary of the Assassination of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  The 2022 Black History Month programs will be offered virtually to organized groups, along with daily features on the park's Facebook and Instagram sites.  The Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park virtually celebrates the 93rd birthday of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., beginning Friday, January 14, 2022 and ending on the National King Holiday, Monday, January 17, 2022.
