Mount Vernon Trail Open on Inauguration Day
The Mount Vernon Trail will be open between Theodore Roosevelt Island and the turn-off for Lyndon Baines Johnson Memorial Grove from 5 am to 5 pm on Monday, January 21, 2013. An earlier security plan required that this section of the trail be closed. Bicyclists and pedestrians can get to events on the National Mall from the trail via the 14th Street Bridge or Memorial Bridge.
