Little River Canyon National Preserve is largely wooded with only a few trails. The National Park Service strives to make the park as universally accessible as possible. Your first stop is the Little River Canyon Center located at 4322 Little River Trail NE, Fort Payne, AL 35967. (GPS address: 472 Alabama Hwy 35). This building is accessible to wheelchairs and persons with disabilities. You can watch the movie which has captions for the hearing impaired and get maps of the area. Little River Falls has a boardwalk that leads you down to a close-up view of the waterfall. There are picnic tables available near the parking lot. The scenic drive offers a boardwalk on the first overlook, "Little River Falls Boardwalk", it gives you a far-away view of the falls. If your questions concerning accessibility are unanswered after reading the above information, please contact us at (256) 845-9605. |
