Junior Ranger Program

Junior Ranger booklets are available in the park. Junior Ranger booklets are activity books that are completed in the park and reviewed by a ranger. Visitors who finish the activities are awarded badges at the Loomis Museum (summer only) and Kohm Yah-mah-nee Visitor Center. View visitor center schedules.

The Junior Ranger program is designed to be completed at the park. We do not mail booklets or badges.

How to Become a Lassen Volcanic National Park Junior Ranger:

  1. Kids pick up a Junior Ranger Activity Booklet at the Loomis Museum (summer only) or Kohm Yah-mah-nee Visitor Center.
  2. Share your completed booklet with a ranger at the Loomis Museum (summer only) or Kohm Yah-mah-nee Visitor Center.
  3. Take the Junior Ranger Promise to receive a Lassen Volcanic National Park Junior Ranger badge, for your hard work and dedication to the park!
The activities in the Junior Ranger booklet are best-suited to kids age 5 to 12. Children under 5 can complete our Chipmunk Club activity sheet to earn a sticker.
