A Wild Classroom

What do bears do in winter? Why does Lassen have all four types of volcanoes? How can fire help a landscape? Lassen Volcanic National Park is a wild classroom that can help you explore these and more topics! The park’s abundance of volcanic domes, alpine lakes, and winter snow allows students of all ages to discover the natural world.

Our education rangers offer a variety of in-person opportunities to public and private school groups in thirty-six California counties, Kindergarten through college. We also offer digital resources for those located farther away. All education programs and materials adhere to National and California State Education Standards.

How will you use Lassen Volcanic as your classroom?
