NPS/MAustin Discover Hemenway HarborIf you're ready to hit the water at Lake Mead, Hemenway Harbor is a great place to start, especially considering its proximity to Las Vegas and Boulder City. From here you can launch your own boat (refer to our Alerts page for up-to-date-ramp conditions) or rent a boat. If you prefer for someone else to do the driving, you can even take a cruise to the Hoover Dam aboard the Desert Princess.

Boating services include a launch ramp, marine fuel sales, along with a variety of boat and equipment rental options to include sport boats, pontoon boats, personal watercraft, paddlecraft and water sport equipment. Boat slip rentals are also available.
Take a cruise to the Hoover Dam and back aboard the Desert Princess with Lake Mead Cruises. The triple-decker paddlewheel style boat offers a variety of cruise packages. There are no overnight accomodations at Hemenway Harbor, but the Boulder Beach Campground and Lake Mead RV Village are just up the road.
Dine on the docks at the Harbor House Cafe and Lounge at Las Vegas Boat Harbor or the Boat House Bar & Grill at Lake Mead Marina. Or take a dinner cruise or Sunday Brunch on the lake with Lake Mead Cruises.
There are no trails at Hemenway Harbor, but the Historic Railroad and River Mountains Loop trailhead is only two miles away. Boulder Beach is nearby and there are miles of shorline that can be walked.
Fishing is a year-round activity at Lake Mead; each season bringing its own exciting opportunities.
Due to low water conditions, Hemeway Harbor no longer has a fishing pier, however shore fishing at Hemenway Fishing Point is allowed in the designated area marked by bouys. In order to be considered wading, a person fishing must be standing with their feet on the bottom and not capable of free flotation through the use of any device. As water recedes, be aware of the potential for soft mud. All other water-oriented activities, such as boating, fishing from vessels and floating devices, swimming, snorkeling, and SCUBA diving, are prohibited in this designated area. Fishing equipment, bait and supplies are available at the marina store. A convenient fish cleaning station is located at the top of the launch ramp parking lot. Swimmming is not allowed in Hemenway Harbor. Boulder Beach is just up the road and has lots of beach access.
Marine fuel can be purchased at Hemenway Harbor.
The Hoover Dam is just minutes to the south along U.S. Highway 93. Nearby Boulder City has multiple dining, shopping and adventure options.
