We are excited to announce an art exhibit and slide presentation this coming weekend featuring Noatak National Preserve's 2012 Artist-in-Residence MK MacNaughton. Paintings depicting the landscapes and fall colors of the Copter Peak basin will be on display in downtown Juneau (209 Seward Street) 12-8 pm Friday, December 7th, 12-6 pm Saturday, December 8th, and 12-6 pm Sunday, December 9th. From 4-5 pm Saturday and Sunday MK will deliver a slide presentation of her trip to the Preserve alongside National Park Service staff. The Artist-in-Residence program throughout the National Park system provides artists a means of experiencing the Parks and the Parks a piece of art to share with the world. In 2012, the National Park Service teamed up with other protected areas in the Voices of the Wilderness program to connect and promote Wilderness areas and the Wilderness Act nationwide.
