Overflights also provide dramatic views of the park's glaciers, fjords, and wildlife. You may catch a glimpse of a mountain goat traversing a rocky ledge or peer down at a brown bear fishing in a salmon-choked stream. Flightseeing is one of the best ways to get a sense of the vastness of the Harding Icefield. Soaring over this expanse of ice broken only by isolated mountain peaks, or nunataks, is like traveling back, over 12,000 years ago, to the Pleistocene.

The Seward Chamber of Commerce may have more information or a list of operators that offer scenic overflights of the park, departing from Seward. Because they are not landing in the park, flightseeing tours are not required to have a Commercial Use Authorization (CUA). An authorized air taxi service can provide transportation services by picking up or dropping you off in the park.
