Dispatches from the Trail

January 30, 2019 Posted by: Rick Collins
Park Ranger Rick Collins reports today that the Anza Trail segment between Tubac State Historic Park and Tumacacori National Historical Park is currently impassable without waders or flippers. He reports that multiple log  jams have pushed the river east and across the trail. This temporary lake and bog is about 1.5 miles north of Tumacacori NHP.

Because the trail is impassable in that section, the Anza Trail Hike on Saturday, February 2 will be from Palo Parado northward to Tumacacori NHP.   Meet at Tumacacori to catch the shuttle at 9 am. This ranger guided hike is fairly flat, but will cover about 4.5 miles through beautiful riparian river country
