ST. LOUIS – The National Park Service issued a solicitation today for proposals for construction on Luther Ely Smith Square, part of the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial. The Luther Ely Smith Square project is part of the CityArchRiver 2015 Project that is revitalizing the Gateway Arch grounds and its surroundings. A meeting will be held on Thursday, September 4 at 9:00 a.m. at the Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark (1 S. Broadway, St. Louis, MO 63102) to provide interested bidders with project specifics, and it includes a tour of the project area.

This project includes site-related improvements to Luther Ely Smith Square and on top of the lid structure over I-44 (approximately 2.5 acres) and includes landscaping, pathways that connect the park with surrounding areas, and vehicular drop-off areas. The construction work will include selective removal of existing walkways, utilities, and landscaping while creating new infrastructure, landscaping, and lighting in the area. Design and construction of this project is funded privately through the CityArchRiver 2015 Foundation.

All interested companies - large and small businesses, prime contractors and subcontractors including minority owned and disadvantaged businesses are encouraged to attend the event on September 4. Pre-registration is not required.

More details on the project and instructions on how to submit a proposal can be found at: https://www.fbo.gov/index?s=opportunity&mode=form&id=f52b37e73fa1100902325404815213bc&tab=core&_cview=0. Responses are due within 30 days.
