The UCBN office is located in Moscow, Idaho, at an off-campus site of the University of Idaho.

Network decisions and the integration of I&M information into park management is guided by our Board of Directors and our Science Advisory Committee. Program guidance and oversight is provided by the Inventory & Monitoring Division.

Network Staff

Program Manager: Gordon Dicus, 208-885-3684

Gordon has worked for the National Park Service over 15 years and has a background in wildlife biology, holding a B.S. in Biology from the University of California at Santa Cruz and a M.S. in Wildlife Biology from the University of Montana. After 10 years of field-oriented work on various wildlife projects, Gordon's work began focusing on GIS and database development, and on project management. Gordon served as Data Manager for over four years, then in 2012 moved into the Upper Columbia Basin Network Program Manager position.


Data Manager: Jeff Lonneker, 208-885-3022

Jeff received a B.S. in Natural Resource Science and Wildlife Ecology from Washington State University in Pullman, then an M.S. in Forest Resources from the University of Idaho in Moscow. Jeff brings a broad geospatial skillset and natural resource management experience to the UCBN Data Manager position. His professional experience includes working for the USGS GAP Analysis Program, the University of Idaho's Department of Forest Resources, and the Idaho Department of Fish and Game.


Vegetation Ecologist: Devin Stucki

Devin works as a vegetation ecologist for the UCBN and has been involved with many of the Network's vegetation and vertebrate inventory and monitoring projects. He received a B.S. in Botany from Oregon State University in 2011 and completed an M.S. in Forest Ecosystems and Society from Oregon State University in 2018. He has been working for the UCBN since 2008. Before being employed for the UCBN, Devin worked for the BLM and USFS, work which included fire effects monitoring and plant surveys.


Biological Science Technician Crew Lead: Sarah Barsch

Sarah works as a Biological Science Technician Crew Lead for the UCBN and has been doing vertebrate and vegetation field technician work with the National Park Service since 2020. She earned a B.S. in biological science with a concentration in ecology, evolution, biodiversity, and conservation from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo in 2021. Before working for the UCBN, Sarah’s professional experience includes piloting field methods for assessing the impacts of plague on the American pika and associated small mammals, acoustic monitoring and white nose surveillance for bats, and monitoring upland shrub communities in the Mojave Desert.
