While the majority of activities enjoyed along the Ice Age Trail take place outdoors, there are opportunities for indoor exploration as well. Major interpretive centers explaining the glacial history and geology of Wisconsin are located along the trail in the Northern Unit of Kettle Moraine State Forest, Interstate State Park, and Chippewa Moraine State Recreation Area. These facilities are staffed and operated by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. |
