As of October 1, 2022, our cell phone tours were moved onto the new National Park Service app.

Once you download the app, you can search for Harry S Truman National Historic Site. Once you're on our page, you can click on "self guided tours."

More features will be added to the NPS app soon. You can use the app to plan your visit to your National Parks!

On the NPS app for Harry S Truman National Historic Site are these self-guided tours:

The Truman Farm takes visitors around the grounds of the family farm in Grandview and discusses the 11 years Truman spent there as a young man.

Around the Corner from the Truman Home gives visitors the chance to see several structures important to Truman throughout his private life and starts at the Truman home in Independence.

The Political Education of Harry Truman starts at the Truman statue on the Independence town square and takes visitors past several buildings that were significant in Truman's early political years.

The park is open to the public Wednesdays-Sundays. The park is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Administrative staff work Monday-Friday. For Administration staff, please call (816) 254-2720, Mondays to Fridays, 8AM-4PM. All times central. (We like to call it Truman Time.)
