Most picnic areas at Gulpha Gorge, Hot Springs and West Mountains have tables and grills. The Grand Promenade is also a great place for a quiet meal.

Enjoy the outdoors at Gulpha Gorge Campground on quiet Gulpha Creek. Many sites have full hookups. There are no showers available, but there are modern restrooms with flush toilets and running water. Several trails begin here. Read more about rates and facilities.

Basic Information

Camping at Gulpha Gorge Campground costs $34 per night for all sites. All sites have full hookups: 30 and 50 amp electric, water and sewer connections. Sites are not pull-through. Each campsite has a picnic table, pedestal grill, and water.

Camping in Gulpha Gorge Campground is limited to a total of 14 consecutive days and a cumulative total of 30 days in any calendar year. Each 14 day consecutive stay must be followed by a minimum of a 7 day break.

• Fires are permitted in fire grills provided at each camp site and at designated sites the picnic area. • Self-contained portable stoves or grills may be used when off the ground and away from overhanging vegetation. • Ground fires are prohibited throughout the park, except in fire rings provided at camp sites in the campground. • Fires in the group fire ring at the Gulpha Gorge Campground Amphitheater require a valid permit.

The campground is open year around. Gulpha Gorge Picnic Area, Gulpha Gorge Campground, and Gulpha Gorge Amphitheater are open to the public from Sunrise to Sunset daily. Registered campers can access the campground 24 hours a day.

Camping is $34 per night.* As of February 1st, all campsites must be paid for by making a reservation on Recreation.gov *Owners of the America the Beautiful: The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Senior or Access Pass may receive a 50% discount. This discount only applies to the fee for the campsite physically occupied by the pass owner.

Regulations

• Camping or staying overnight is permitted only in designated sites in Gulpha Gorge Campground.
• Camping is limited to a total of 14 consecutive days and cumulative total of 30 days in any calendar year. Each 14 day consecutive stay must be followed by a minimum of a 7 day break.
• Each camping group must register and pay a fee on Recreation.gov for all days that a campsite is occupied. Camping groups must register prior to site occupancy.
• Checkout time is 12:00 p.m.
• Check in time is 2:00 p.m.
• Quiet hours are 8 pm to 9 am. (No generator use, loud music, etc.)
• Maximum occupancy is limited to eight people/two vehicles (one RV and one tent OR two tents) per site.
• Trailers and other vehicles must remain on the pavement.
• Livestock are prohibited in the campground.
• Pets on a leash of 6 feet (1.8 meters) or less are permitted. Immediate clean up and disposal of pet waste is required.

Accessibility Information

ADA Information - Gulpha Gorge Campground is fully accessible. The campground is mostly flat, with paved surfaces throughout. Sidewalks are available and lead from campsites to the restrooms and the amphitheater. One campsite is designated as ADA compliant and several are located near the campgrounds amenities. Campground hosts are available at the campground.

Wheelchair Access - Restrooms and campsites are ADA accessible. One campsite is designated as ADA compliant.

RV & Trailer Information - RV's and trailers are both allowed at all of the campsites at Gulpha Gorge. The maximum allowed length is 60 feet, and includes vehicle length. Each campsite has full hook ups for electricity, water, and waste.

Classification - This campground is a developed campground.

 

Hot Springs Mountain has had a lookout tower since at least 1877. This is the third tower to stand near this location and still gives a great view of the surrounding mountains.

Hot Springs Mountain Tower

Located on Hot Springs Mountain Drive, the 216-foot tall tower overlooks 140 miles of the beautiful Ouachita Mountains. There is a fee to go to the top of the tower. A gift shop on the ground level offers a variety of souvenirs along with healthy snacks and sandwiches to satisfy the whole family. For more information, visit their website.
