Parking Areas: Visitor Center Parking has 5 designated accessible parking spaces near the visitor center entrance. The parking lot is paved.
The village has an designated accessible parking area located approximately 0.5 miles south of the park's main entrance off Route 345. Enter Clement Brooke Lane and take your next left to the ADA parking lot.
Visitor Center: The visitor center is at street level to the main parking lot. Door at the entrance can be open manually or by electronic door opener. Once inside, there is room to navigate a wheelchair. As visitors enter the building, they will see the information desk in front of them. To the left, vending machines, a tactile table of furnace artifacts and a regional brochure rack. To the right of the visitor center desk is an a exhibit space. Behind the desk is the Eastern National Store space. A theater with chairs is also located within the visitor center.
Bathrooms: Bathrooms are located outside down a paved slightly sloped path on the right side of the visitor center. Each bathroom has one accessible bathroom stall.
Village and historic buildings: Much of the historic furnace community was built on a hillside. Roadways and trails in the park are earthen and sometimes rocky and uneven. Some of the historic buildings have unobstructed entrances, others require negotiating steps or high door sills to enter.
Deaf / Hearing Loss
At the visitor center you may request to watch the 15 minute official park film "Hopewell Furnace: A Place of Opportunity " All films have closed captions as well as written texts available at the Visitor Center desk.
Blind / Low Vision
Large print versions of the park brochure and braille maps of the historic area are available.
