Preserving the Guadalupe Mountains

Six years after Congress authorized the park, on September 30, 1972, Guadalupe Mountains National Park was formally established. Beginning in 1925 one landowner was an early advocate for the Guadalupe Mountaisns to be elevated to national park status. These articles explore the early history of the park.
