*Readers should not confuse the subject of these three documents—the antebellum St. Johns Church, located in Green Springs Parish and in the hamlet formerly known as Mechanicsville on the northern fringe of the future Green Springs National Historic Landmark District—with the similarly named, postbellum St. Johns Chapel, also located in Green Springs Parish but near the hamlet of Poindexter and in the center of the future Green Springs National Historic Landmark District. Both houses of worship stand in excellent condition, following acquisition and conservation by Historic Green Springs, Incorporated.
