History Kids Reading Adventures Club

for kids who LOVE to read, parents who WANT their kids to love to read, and for budding history buffs everywhere!

Our 2025 theme is:
National Parks and the Arts

Join a park educator to read a new children's book and then participate in an indoor or outdoor adventures. Recommended for families with children ages 4-9

When?
Saturday mornings at 11:00 a.m. January 4 through February 22, 2024
Where?
Film Theater, Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center

 

Time Travelers' Reading Adventure Club

Our 2025 selection is:

Program is free of charge. Recommended for families with children ages 9-14.

When?
Saturday mornings at 11:00 a.m., March 1 through March 22.

Ford Education Room, Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center

Special Education Events

Sensory Friendly Days

2025 Dates: To Be Determined

Explore the film and cyclorama painting, as well as the Gettysburg Museum of the American Civil War in a quieter and calmer way during the morning hours. Special Hands-On History Carts and other gentle surprises for families who attend. A Relaxation Station will be available in the Ford Education Center.

Note: Recommended for children ages 8-14. If you have children below age 5, please find alternative plans for them. Also, we can accept a maximum of 50 students per session. A waiting list will be maintained for reservation requests after that. Thank you!
