Junior Ranger DaysDuring summer 2024 come out and explore the park. March 30: Kite DayFly a kite with us! Bring a kite to fly or come to the kite creation station and make one. From 1-3 p.m. (eastern time) we'll have blank kites to decorate and volunteers will help you build them. April 8: Total Solar EclipseCome learn about eclipses, do crafts and the Eclipse explorer Junor Ranger Book. Activities run 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Totality begins just after 3:05 p.m. Eastern tiem and lasts 4 minutes 4 seconds. the longest in Indiana! June 22: Three Forts DayLearn how kids lived in Vincennes from the early French, American Revolution, and War of 1812 periods. Musket demonstrations included. 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. (Eastern Time) July 13: Art in the ParkCome play in the park and bring your favorite art project to do on your own or participate in making a craft, writing a poem, or making music in the park with rangers and volunteers! August 17: Natural Resource DayLearn more about the natural world including basic plant and track identification. 1 - 3 p.m.(Eastern Time) October 5: Astronomy NightLearn about astronomy both during the day and at night. We'll have telescopes, activities about the night sky, and the night sky junior ranger book! 6:30 pm - 9:30 p.m. These events are free and open to the public. These events always have a wide variety of activities, so children of all ages will find something to enjoy! |
