Old Swedes Historic Site serves as a reminder of the early Swedish settlement that once thrived along the Christina River. While visiting this site you will travel through time as you learn about the earliest settlers buried here to some of the people that for and against Women’s Right to Vote.

Your tour of Old Swedes Historic Site will start inside the Hendrickson House where you will be greeted by a guide from our partners. While inside the building you can ask them for the available stamps for your passport book and explore some of the Swedish style souvenirs available for purchase in their gift shop.

Learn and Explore

Fees & Passes

There is no fee to visit Fort Christina, but Old Swedes Church and the Kalmar Nyckel Foundation do charge a small fee. Together, these three sites beautifully illustrate the founding of the New Sweden colony. If you are interested in visiting all three sites you can purchase a Christina Cultural Trail Pass. The pass can be purchased at Old Swedes Church, or the Kalmar Nyckel Foundation. If you only want to visit Fort Christina there is no fee for tours.
