20th Century Figures

While most of the history associated with Fort Raleigh occurred between 1580-1867, there is no shortage of significant figures who have become part of Fort Raleigh National Historic Site in the 20th century. Inventors, playwrights and actors, and National Park Service employees have all contributed to the more recent history of the site, showing that history doesn't end when you get closer to present day.
