Guided Tours

Unfortunately, we will not be offering Ranger-led tours or programs until further notice. This decision has been made with the safety of our staff and visitors at the top of our minds. Staff will be onsite to provide orientation and assist visitors as needed.

Instead staff will be offering the following interpretive products:
  • Unstaffed Pop-up’s – Temporary exhibits and displays that incorporate short historical narratives of the fort and make connections to modern day society. They will be set-up in different areas of the fort.
  • Waysides- Formal interpretive panels will still be available on the parade ground.
  • Junior Ranger Program- Will be available onsite and virtually for visitors who wish to print a copy from home. Badges will also be available for visitors who complete their activity booklet. The “swearing in ceremony” has been modified to meet social distancing guidelines. If people prefer, they can mail in their booklets when they are completed, and we can mail them a junior ranger badge.
  • Virtual Content- Staff are working hard to make more online interpretive content. Visitors can refer to Fort Point NHS Facebook and Twitter account. We are also currently working on a virtual program for youth to engage with that will eventually be available on our nps.gov website. It is still under development. We will make a social media post promoting this program when it is completed.
  • Unigrids- Park unigrids will still be available onsite. Although we are eliminating “self-serve” brochure racks due to safety concerns of cross-contamination, they will still be available for distribution at the information table inside of the fort. These unigrids are available in different languages and are also on our website.
  • NPS Website- Fort Point NHS website also offers an array of interpretive material for visitors who wish to continue their learning after their visit- or even before.
  • GOGA NPS App- Can be downloaded to learn even more about the fort and other park sites, make sure you downloaded the app before you get to Fort Point because there is no cellular service here.
