[RG 94, entry 297, 5397 ACP 1883 Nolan] Charges against Nicholas Nolan Captain, 10th Cavalry. Lieut-Col A.D. Nelson, USA (unassigned) under date Head Quarters, Camp Supply, I.T., Sept. 23, 1870. Charges him with inhumane treatment of the private soldiers under his command. That not only does his 1st Sergt. rule the company but that he has some hold over the Captain whereby he is master. Invites attention to a court of Inquiry held at Fort Larned some 18 months previous to the above date as bearing upon Capt. Nolan’s fitness for the service. See letter marker 5C in blue. |
