Maintenance Volunteer Positions

General Labor Maintenance Volunteers

This work can be done by adults or young adults. No children under the age of 16 will be considered for this position. The volunteer will help park maintenance staff with general operational maintenance. The work generally involves the use of hand tools. The jobs could include cleaning, moving furnishings, painting, repairing fences and the boardwalk.

Skilled Labor Maintenance Volunteer

This work will only be performed by a trained adult. The volunteer will work alone or as part of a team assisting park maintenance staff with general operational needs as well as with the preservation of historic structures and grounds maintenance. This work usually involves the use of power tools and/or riding equipment.

All volunteer maintenance jobs usually require working in adverse weather conditions, as well as standing for long periods of time, stooping, bending, and lifting heavy objects.
