Volunteering for the Eugene O'Neill National Historic Site
The Eugene O'Neill National Historic Site offers a variety of volunteer opportunities:
Tour Guides for Tao House
Gardeners for the Taoist courtyard
Museum Curator Assistants
Group Community Service Projects on the property
General Volunteer Opportunities
Requirements and Benefits:
Minimal requirements; training is provided
Volunteer field trips and events throughout the year
A minimum one-year commitment is requested due to the training involved
Note: Community service applicants are not eligible for these positions
Maintenance Volunteer Opportunities
Duties:
Manual labor in the park's walnut orchards and other areas
Tasks include:
Picking up trash
Pulling weeds and removing invasive plant species
Mowing lawns
Picking ripe fruits and nuts
Hauling plant debris from pruning sites to composting areas
Other duties as determined by the maintenance supervisor
Requirements:
No minimum commitment required
All volunteers, including community service applicants, may apply
Be advised: This work is physically demanding and takes place outdoors. Volunteers with back, heart, allergies, or other medical conditions should consider these factors.
