Students can learn so much about Eleanor Roosevelt and United States history on a ranger-guided tour of her home at Val-Kill. Field trip tours cover a variety of topics ranging from Roosevelt family history, arts and crafts industries, the New Deal, civil rights, human rights, and the post-war era in the United States. The program can be adapted for all grades.

Examine how Roosevelt's use of her at home reflected her interest in human rights and her leadership in creating the United Nations' Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

This packet includes 4 different activities to help students understand the legacy of Eleanor Roosevelt and her work on social justice issues.
