Interview for the Groundswell Mural Project

In the process of creating the murals, which part of the murals hold the significant meaning in your life and in what ways are you showcased in the murals?

"I think it has been divided nicely throughout all the panels because they show different angles of the immigration that’s here today and how it was when my parents and grandparents first came here. And the hustle and bustle of trying to adapt to the New York lifestyle but then actually through time get that satisfying feeling of being able to call themselves an “American” …So that is reflected in the first three panels, about the immigration in the past, where we have the buildings, the tenement houses, and the labor, you could see the struggle the amount of work and effort put in back then, and the new forms, the modern, how the process is different but the same amount of effort needs to be applied to get your citizenship.”
