How Your Fees Help the Park

The fees you pay when visiting Thomas Edison NHP make a difference. Under the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act, Thomas Edison keeps 100 percent of all fees collected and uses that money to improve visitor services and fund critical deferred maintenance projects.

Fee dollars also helped to install automatic door openers on buildings at the Laboratory Complex, as well as install a new public restroom at the Glenmont Potting Shed. In the near future, additional accessible paths around the Glenmont Estate will be created.

Each year new projects are completed using fee dollars. Over the next couple of years fee dollars will enable us to install a universal entrance into the Glenmont Garage, replace the missing historic newel post fixture on the staircase in Edison’s home and restore the interior of the west bedroom in Glenmont just to name a few projects.
