Edgar Allan Poe National Historic Site offers a limited number of ranger-guided tours for groups. The site is open Friday thru Sunday from 9am - 12noon, and 1pm - 5pm. The site is closed Monday through Thursday. Please note our group size limit is 25.

The ranger-guided house tours focus on Poe's literature and legacy. The six years that Edgar Allan Poe lived in Philadelphia are considered his most productive. He established his reputation as a literary critic, perfected his gothic tales, such as the "Fall of House of Usher," invented the modern detective story with "Murders in the Rue Morgue," pioneered science fiction stories, and wrote in his favorite literary genre - poetry. Group reservations are required.
