- Utility Company Coordination: Permanent utility connections (power, gas, water, sewer, etc.) may involve installation and usage fees. The A/E should confirm service availability and rates with utility providers early and include this information in the project specifications. Contractors typically arrange and pay for temporary and permanent connections until project acceptance, coordinating responsibilities with the utility provider and the contracting office to ensure timely service. If any questions arise about utility hookups or agreements, consult the CO. When required by the utility provider, ensure inspections are completed and provide the necessary documentation to the PM.
